Health and token cost of the MCP registry
mcpcost probes every remote server in the official MCP registry each day, and the npm and PyPI package servers one seventh at a time. It records if the server answers. It counts the tokens that the tool definitions take from the context window, as Claude counts them.

The command reads the configs of Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf. It starts each server. It shows the token cost of each server. Use --budget in CI.
